Last week...

It's safe to say last week was a really bad week. It started with what should have been an enjoyable three day weekend going pretty well on Friday and Saturday...until I realized my cat was sick...turns out, he ate 2 yards of yarn. It was Sunday, and apparently animals don't get sick on Sundays OR Holidays because absolutely no vets were open. I waited until Monday to see if any regular vets would be open on Labor Day but I was out of luck. I ended up taking Kitty to a 24 hour emergency vet and paid them $500.00 to tell me he needed emergency surgery that would cost $5,000.00. I was in tears, that's a lot of money! I thought there was nothing more I could do for Kitty and that I would have to put him to sleep. We took him home but didn't give up. I decided to call Last Chance Rescue where I got Kitty, as a last resort, to see if I could surrender him to them so they could help him. They refereed me to a sister non profit clinic, which was about to close but I tried my luck. They answered and told me to bring Kitty in immediately...they did emergency surgery the next morning, even though they weren't open and I spend the rest of the week at home taking care of recovering Kitty and giving him his medication. The whole thing worked out in the end, I just wish it never happened to begin with!

Friday!

It's fridayay! I'm just 1 hour away from starting my three day weekend! Hooray for Labor Day! My plans include baking an amazing birthday cake (funfetti)! Spending the day with my parents, which includes going to lunch at G&M for my fill of crabs! Surprise party for Bethany, homework at some point, relaxing on Sunday with my love and pool party on Monday! Today I had lunch at the park and saw the cutest dog ever. I can't wait to get our dog...whenever that will be. I will treat that dog like my first born...although she's prob. going to despise me after our first dress-up session haha.

Hello...

I just happened to stumble upon this blog site and decided to start my own blog. I don't even think anyone will see this but it's still neat to have a place to write down the happenings of my days. Since this is my first blog, I'll put in a little about me. As I mention in my "About me" section, I love shabby chic. I hope to one day inhabit my own cottage and live in a state of shabby chic euphoria. I'm lucky in the sense that my boyfriend could care less about how I decorate, so I am free with no restraints to decorate as I please! When I was younger, I had an initial intrigue with crocheting and recently decided to learn. It's surprisingly very easy, however, I find the patterns hard to read. Right now, I am working on making a baby blanket for a friend...I'll post a picture when I finish! I have a cat named Kitty that I adopted from PetSmart. To this day I have no idea why, but Kitty hates me with a burning passion, I can see it in his eyes! haha. He absolutley adores my boyfriend and I call them boyfriends. What I really want is a dog...someday :(

I am happy fall has started. I also love decorating for Halloween and all of that fun geeky stuff.

I am in the works of planning a surprise birthday party for my boyfriend. I've never tried planning something like this so I am crossing my fingers and praying for success. I'll let you know how it turns out, if it turns out.

My friend Bethany's birthday is tomorrow and I'm baking her a layered Funfetti cake and decorating it. It will be featured at her surprise party so I hope it doesn't turn out looking like a mess!

I suppose that is all for the moment while I wait for the hands on the clock to continue there slow crawl to my favorite time of the day...5:30!!! Here's a pic of my favorite cat on the planet, Callie!
